‘Saanp aur Tiger zinda hai’

Says Salman Khan while making light of snake-bite incident on birthday. He also talks of future plans

“I don’t know how I turned 56, time has just whizzed past,” said Salman Khan. Meeting the media in the wee hours at his Panvel Farmhouse to mark his birthday, the actor thanked his fans and the country as a whole. “It makes me feel very privileged to receive the kind of love that I have been bestowed by my fans and Hindustan. I hope this tradition goes on,” he smiled.

Salman’s parents, sisters, brothers-in-law, brothers and their children had come to the farmhouse to wish him. A few people in the film industry such as Bobby

Deol and Hollywood actress Samantha Lockwood were also present.

“All of them were subjected to the Rapid Antigen Test because of the new Covid variant. They are all safe and they will spend maybe for four-five days with me, after which I will have to go to Mumbai and restart my work,” he said.

Many of the guests were worried about Salman getting bitten by a snake, though Salman himself claimed it was not venomous. “I heard the children shouting and I saw a snake had entered the room. There are snakes on the grounds. I got a long stick and picked up the snake. But it curled around the stick and came towards my hand. It was upset by all the shouting, and bit me,” he said, adding in a lighter vein, “The snake must have liked biting me, because it bit me a couple more times!”

Salman said they took the snake to the hospital to determine whether it was poisonous.The actor also shared that the Commissioner of Police, Bipin Kumar, and the MLA Sandeep Naik, visited him.

Continuing the humorous note, Salman said, “My sister Arpita got very scared, but by then I had become friends with the snake and I took a selfie with it and then let it go safely. My father also

asked me as to what had happened to the

snake. I told him, ‘Saanp zinda hai aur Tiger bhee zinda hai’” he guffawed.
