Mahesh Babu congratulates Allu Arjun; angers his fans
While the two Tollywood ‘rivals’ took to appreciating each other, their fans weren’t amused
In an act of camaraderie and professionalism, actor Mahesh Babu took to his Twitter page to congratulate the team of the newly released film, Pushpa: The Rise, and especially praised actor Allu Arjun’s performance in the film. “@alluarjun as Pushpa is stunning, original and sensational… a stellar act @aryasukku proves again that his cinema is raw, rustic and brutally honest... a class apart [sic],” Mahesh wrote. Allu Arjun, on his part, replied rather warmly to Mahesh’s tweet, writing, “Thank you very much @urstrulyMahesh garu. So glad u liked the performance, everyone’s work and the world of #Pushpa. Heart warming compliment. Humbled [sic].” However, Mahesh Babu’s tweet has left a whole lot of his fans angry. Fans of both these top Tollywood actors have been at loggerheads for a while now, their disagreements reaching a peak especially after the release of the 2020 films — Sarileru Neekevvaru, with Mahesh Babu, and Ala Vaikunthapurramllo, with Allu Arjun in it. After it came to light that the latter’s film did better much than Mahesh’s at the box office, fans of both the respective actors were trolling each other — over whose film was a bigger hit. And at that time, both the superstars remained mum. So now, with Mahesh Babu praising Allu Arjun and the film, the former’s fans claim to feel betrayed. They feel Mahesh’s praise was needless, even if he liked Allu Arjun’s work. Mahesh Babu’s fans have been trolling Pushpa’s filmmakers by calling the movie’s box office figures, ‘bloated collections’. As the drama played out, several others spoke for Mahesh. “Requesting all the tweeples to stop trolling... And appreciate and spread positivity about all the heroes. Lets all unite together and keep our tfi in top of our country [sic],” wrote a user!
