7 peddlers held, drugs worth `16 lakh seized
Intensifying their drive against drug abuse in the city, the North and West Zone teams of Commissioner’s Task Force, along with the local law and order police, conducted multiple raids in various locations and apprehended seven individuals for possesion of contraband, including cocaine, MDMA and LSD worth `16 lakh.
The Task Force teams, along with the local police officials from Panjagutta, Narayanguda and Trimulgherry, raided several places and arrested seven men belonging to three different gangs, said Hyderabad police commissioner C.V. He said the officials seized 98 grams of cocaine, 45 grams of MDMA, 27 ecstasy pills and 17 LDS blots worth `16 lakh from them.
“From Panjagutta, the police arrested Imran Babu Shaik, an interstate drug peddler from Mumbai, who smuggled narcotics for Nigerian drug kingpin, Tony, along with Noor Mohammed Khan. Officials seized 83 grams of cocaine, two mobile phones and `30,000 cash from them. Imran arranged local agents in Mumbai and through them, Tony supplied drugs to Hyderabad and catered to customers in the city. Noor Mohammed Khan is the main drug supplier in the city and sells cocaine for `10,000 per gram. They were nabbed by the teams near GVK Mall.
Similarly, Syed Khaiser Hussain, Syed Rashid Ahmed Khan and Najbul Hasan Shaik were found in possession of 15 grams of cocaine at Narayana guda. Meanwhile, A.R. Anirudh and K. Avinash were nabbed from Trimulgherry and were found in possession of ecstasy pills and LSD blots. They procured the banned substances from Goa and sold it to customers in Hyderabad.
