‘Sulli Deals’ app has no TS link: Delhi police

The Intelligen­ce Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) of Delhi Police special cell, who arrested the mastermind behind the ‘Sulli Deals’ app, confirmed that there was no connection with Hyderabad in the case so far.

Meanwhile, officials from the city cybercrime wing said they would seek custody of the accused Neeraj Bishnoi, the main accused in the ‘Bulli Bai’ app case, and bring him to the city.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, K.P.S. Malhotra, DCP of the IFSO unit, said there was no to Hyderabad or Telangana in the ‘Sulli Deals’ case that took place some months back, or ‘Bulli Bai’ case. “We arrested the mastermind behind the ‘Sulli Deals’ Om Thakur from his residence in Indore on Sunday. The arrest was made based on inputs provided by Niraj Bishnoi, the creator of ‘Bulli Bai’ app, during his interrogat­ion,” said the official.

Delhi and the case is under progress as they are finishing their probe. We will bring him to Hyderabad and produce him in the local court here,” said the official.

Based on a complaint from veteran social activist Khalida Parveen, the Hyderabad police registered an FIR in the case under the IT Act and the IPC.

Apart from this, the cybercrime police stations in Hyderabad and Cyberabad booked two more cases after some women approached them saying their names were listed on the app, due to which they faced humiliatio­n and online harassment.
