On getting leads from Haryana police in connection with status of investigation of the four accused of transporting explosive material to Adilabad, the state police, including special wings of antiterrorist activities, are understood to have verified details of suspects in locating the ‘receiver’.

Meanwhile, police have kept vigil on suspects in the city having links with Khalistan movement and its organisers.

The state agencies, which collected preliminary reports, suspect that anti-social elements could create panic by triggering Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

A day after the Haryana police nabbed Gurpreet Singh, Amandeep Singh, Parminder Singh and Bhupinder Singh for transporting explosive material that were received from a handler in Pakistan to Adilabad, the intelligence and Counter Intelligence Cell (CI Cell) and the state police have reportedly visited several place in Adilabad for getting more details about the suspects.

Having no clue about ‘receiver’, the agencies suspect that the miscreants might have chosen Adilabad to drop the material to divert attention of the police and ensure safe passage of the material.

Agencies suspect the active involvement of Gurpreet Singh in supplying the explosive material. “He has done it earlier in Nanded. He might have chosen Adilabad as a safe place to dump the explosive material, which was to be subsequently shifted to Nanded,” sources said.

Denying the role of Maoists and its affiliated wings in connection with the incident, officials from the agencies have visited sensitive places in Nirmal and Bhainsa and analysed the route from Adilabad to Nanded and Adilabad to Delhi by train as they fear that the miscreants might have been planned to silently shift the explosive material.

Meanwhile, the state police are likely to visit Haryana to participate in the investigation process.
