TRS ministers attack Nadda for remarks on KCR

- L. VENKAT RAM REDDY | DC HYDERABAD, MAY 6

State ministers and Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) MLAs from Mahbubnagar district slammed BJP national president J.P. Nadda and BJP state president Bandi Sanjay for their criticism of the TRS government and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in the public meeting held on Thursday.

Speaking to media, ministers V. Srinivas Goud, S. Niranjan Reddy, MLAs Alla Venkateshwar Reddy, Y. Anjaiah Yadav and Patnam Mahender Reddy alleged that BJP leaders were trying to spread false propaganda about Mahbubnagar district which was once infamous for drought and migrations to other cities in undivided AP by taking out padayatras. They said the Chief Minister turned Mahbubnagar into a lush green district within eight years by providing irrigation water that helped stop migrations.

Srinivas Goud came down heavily on Sanjay for abusing the Chief Minister and state ministers at the public meeting. “Even ward councillors in municipalities don't indulge in such abuses. Listening to Sanjay, one wonders how the BJP national leadership has appointed him as state party chief. Where was Sanjay when Telangana statehood agitation was going on? We will cut your tongue if you continue to abuse the Chief Minister and his family members,” Goud warned.

Niranjan Reddy ridiculed Nadda's charges that the TRS government had jacked up Kaleshwaram project cost from `20,000 crore to over

`1lakh crore. “Is it possible to construct the world's largest lift irrigation project like Kaleshwaram with just

`20,000 crore. It shows Nadda lacks even basic knowledge on irrigation projects,” Reddy said.

Meanwhile TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao lashed out at BJP national leadership for visiting Telangana to lecture the TRS government on governance.
