P.C. GEORGE BOOKED FOR HATE SPEECH IN KERALA
The Kerala police has booked veteran leader and former MLA P.C. George again for making a provocative speech against Muslim community during a Saptaha Yagna at the Mahadeva Temple in Kochi.
George was booked under sections 153 A and 295 of IPC . Last week the former MLA was arrested by Kerala police for giving a call to boycott hotels and restaurants owned by Muslim community. While speaking at Ananthapuri Hindu Maha Sammelanam organised by Sangh Parivar outfits in Thiruvananthapuram, George had asked nonMuslims in Kerala to avoid restaurants and eating joints run by the community. He had alleged that tea laced with drops causing impotence were sold in Muslim run restaurants to turn people infertile. This was being done with the objective of seizing control of the country, he said.
Kochi city police commissioner C.H. Nagaraju said that prima facie George had violated the bail conditions. The latest incident comes at a time when the Thiruvananthapuram Magistrate Court is scheduled to consider on Wednesday the prosecution’s plea to cancel George’s bail in the case against Thiruvananthapuram hate speech.
George made the hate speech in Vennala in Thrikkakara constituency where by-election is taking place later this month. At the conclusion of the Saptaha Yajna at the temple, George insulted the Muslim community through his words yet again.
Palarivattom police registered a non-bailable offence under Sections 153A and 295A on the directions of top police officials. They have been charged with creating communal enmity and deliberately hurting religious sentiments.
