FINDING YOUR HIGHER PURPOSE IN LIFE

-

OYOUR REAL WEALTH IS DISCOVERED THROUGH THE RECLAMATION OF

SPIRIT. IT IS NOT COUNTED IN HOW MANY

ASSETS, FRIENDS AND PLEASURES YOU HAVE ACQUIRED IN LIFE. ALL OF THESE ARE

CONSTANTLY THREATENED AND ARE EASILY LOST. BUT THE

RECLAMATION OF KNOWLEDGE CANNOT

BE LOST UNLESS IT IS NEGLECTED OR DENIED, AND EVEN THEN IT WILL ABIDE WITH YOU AND

GO WITH YOU WHEREVER YOU GO.

— WISDOM FROM THE GREATER COMMUNITY

ne of the world’s greatest driving forces is amassing of wealth. It is so significant that numerous wars have been fought for money, and millions of lives have been lost in its pursuit.

The materialistic world that we live in tries to convince us that there is no higher goal in life than buying and consuming material items. Ideally, instead of focusing only on personal satisfaction, we can focus on a higher purpose. Only then, we will truly be wealthy. From the Bahai point of view, “The essence of wealth is love for Me; whoso loveth Me is the possessor of all things, and he that loveth Me not is true of the poor and needy. This is that which the Finger of Glory and Splendor hath revealed.” — Baha’u’llah.

This is the spiritual definition of true wealth. It means that we acquire spiritual wealth when we work to develop virtues such as honesty, truthfulness, assertiveness, compassion, empathy, integrity, and so on.

In fact, wealth could be a great tool that can be used to serve humanity. For instance, I do use Divination or Tarot reading to earn money or create wealth. However, the aim has always been to benefit people and help them live lives in a way that serves their Highest purpose. As per Sadhguru, “What we need in the world is not just ‘wealth creation.’ We need to create wellbeing. Wealth is just one of the tools towards human well-being, not the whole of it. Wealth means making the outside pleasant for ourselves.”

My dear readers, I wish that you understand that If you haven’t created a reservoir of spiritual wealth, no amount of money is likely to make you happy. Spiritual wealth provides faith. It gives you love. It brings and expands wisdom. At that end of life, wealth loses its glitter and its charm, and the only thing that will satisfy your soul would be the fact that you were cognizant of the true meaning of wealth and used your material wealth for the good of others.
