Bandi to take out Hindu Ekta Yatra
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana state unit on Wednesday challenged the TRS to disclose if it was in support of construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar said it was time Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao made their stand on the Ram temple issue clear.
“The Chief Minister and the TRS leaders say they are Hindus. They must say if they are for, or against the temple,” Sanjay said. Sanjay, who will mark three years as an MP on Wednesday, will lead a ‘Hindu Ekta Yatra’ in Karimnagar.
Speaking to reporters here, he said if leaders had started saying they were Hindus, the credit for such acknowledgements from them went to the BJP.
“Political party leaders who pandered to the minorities and sought to split the Hindu community, now say they are Hindus. The ‘Hindu Ekta Yatra’ in Karimnagar on Wednesday will send a clear message that there is no place for such leaders in the society,” he said.
The yatra, held as part of Hanuman Jayanti celebrations, he said, was an annual event but this year, it would be bigger, and show everyone that the Hindu society was united. Sanjay said he expected thousands of people from all over Karimnagar district to take part in the event.
He also said he was happy at completing three years as an MP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “I am happy that I could be part of several courageous decisions taken by the Modi government including scrapping of Article 370 of the Constitution, the Bills on triple talaq and citizenship, and decisions including the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya,” he said.
