Tight security in city for Modi’s visit today
3K cops to be deployed for PM’s security at Begumpet Airport
Tight security measures are in place in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the city on Thursday. As many as 3,000 police personnel have been deployed as part of the security arrangements. The Special Protection Group (SPG) commandos have taken control of Indian School of Business (ISB) premises. Three-tier security is placed for Modi's visit to the ISB campus.
The Prime Minister will attend the 20th anniversary celebrations of the ISB, Gachibowli, and address the graduation ceremony. Union minister G. Kishan Reddy, the animal husbandry minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Governor Tamilasai Soundararajan and ISB dignitaries will attend the ceremony.
Officials said at least 3,000 police personnel including armed reserve, task force, law and order and traffic police had been deployed for the Prime Minister's security at the Begumpet Airport and
ISB campus in Gachibowli. The officials also conducted a mock drill and trail run of the convoy on Wednesday, a day before the Prime Minister's arrival to the city. The entire ISB campus is under the control of SPG commandos and thorough checks are being carried out.
With at least 900 students attending the event, the SPG officials have gone through the details of participants and special arrangements have been placed for security checks. The state police officials are in touch with the SPG officials in exchanging information in connection with the security arrangements. Senior police officials said only pass holders would be allowed inside the premises in view of Narendra Modi's schedule. Meanwhile, the police officials issued certain restrictions. No flying activities of remotely controlled drones will be allowed within the Cyberabad metropolitan area, and Indian School of Business, Gachibowli, from 12 pm on Wednesday to 6 pm on Thursday.
