J&K FILM FEST TO START FROM JUNE 15
Jammu and Kashmir Film Development Council in collaboration with National Film Development Cor-poration and ministry of information and broadcasting is organising the
1st ever National Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir from June 15 to June 20.
The government of Jammu and Kashmir recently unveiled the ‘J&K Film Policy - 2021’ to give impetus to film sector and has taken the film sector as a priority industry.
Since the launch of the policy, in just six months, over 120 applications were successfully processed and 118 permissions were granted for shooting films in the Union Territory.
An average processing time of just 4-5 days per application for film shooting was also recorded in the UT.
The film festival will be an ideal occasion to attract the film fraternity and enthusiasts from across the world onto the stunning imagery of J&K as a creative hub for filmmakers.
Filmmakers and music producers and artists are invited to submit their original films – fiction, documentary, OTT films or shorts and music Videos for a chance to win numerous awards, cash prizes and trophies in the awards ceremony.

As part of the festival, a national film and music awards ceremony will be held, where over
40 awards across three major categories of feature films, non-feature films and music videos are proposed to be given to exemplary talents in the film and music industry.
