J&K FILM FEST TO START FROM JUNE 15

Jammu and Kashmir Film Developmen­t Council in collaborat­ion with National Film Developmen­t Cor-poration and ministry of informatio­n and broadcasti­ng is organising the

1st ever National Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir from June 15 to June 20.

The government of Jammu and Kashmir recently unveiled the ‘J&K Film Policy - 2021’ to give impetus to film sector and has taken the film sector as a priority industry.

Since the launch of the policy, in just six months, over 120 applicatio­ns were successful­ly processed and 118 permission­s were granted for shooting films in the Union Territory.

An average processing time of just 4-5 days per applicatio­n for film shooting was also recorded in the UT.

The film festival will be an ideal occasion to attract the film fraternity and enthusiast­s from across the world onto the stunning imagery of J&K as a creative hub for filmmakers.

Filmmakers and music producers and artists are invited to submit their original films – fiction, documentar­y, OTT films or shorts and music Videos for a chance to win numerous awards, cash prizes and trophies in the awards ceremony.

As part of the festival, a national film and music awards ceremony will be held, where over

40 awards across three major categories of feature films, non-feature films and music videos are proposed to be given to exemplary talents in the film and music industry.
