INTERNAL FIGHT AMONG BJP SPREADS ONLINE

-

The internal bickering among BJP leaders has now spread to social media, and has become a popular subject in Adilabad district.

Those spreading the oftenfalse information against their opponents are using a fake version of the ‘Short News App’ to give readers the impression that it is news and not gossip and rumour. The logo of the fake app is a morphed version of the real app.

Among the keenest watchers of the developments are the TRS and Congress leaders.

BJP leaders claimed that their opponents within the party were defaming them by spreading false information to muddy the race for tickets for the Assembly elections next year. BJP senior leader Ch Suhasini Reddy has lodged a complaint with superintendent of police Uday Kumar Reddy seeking action against those who were allegedly spreading “false propaganda” that she was joining the TRS.

An NRI, Kandi Srinivas Reddy, who claimed to have the support of senior BJP and RSS leaders and is aspiring for a ticket from Adilabad, has also lodged a complaint with the SP seeking action against those who alleged on social media that he was planning to join the Congress.

Besides, unidentified persons have posted a video describing BJP district president Payal Shankar as ‘Naya Nayeem’, citing his alleged involvement in the grabbing of government and private land parcels. The video, spread through WhatsApp groups, feature purported audio recordings of Shankar allegedly striking the deals. Shankar has not reacted to the video. A purported newspaper clipping posted on social media reports that a rival leader had questioned Shankar on the issue, during a party meeting in Boath recently.
