Rly. TC held for raping passenger

A railway ticket collector (TC) was arrested on charges of raping a ticketless passenger in Sagar, police said on Monday. The incident occurred on Saturday night. However, the survivor lodged a complaint with Sagar Cantt police station on Sunday, leading to the arrest of the accused, Rajulal Meena.

A zero rape case was registered based on the complaint by the alleged victim.

The accused was handed over to the Sagar Government Railway Police, in-charge of Sagar Cantt police station Gaurav Tiwari said.

According to the police, the survivor and her husband were to catch a train at Guna to travel to Sagar on Saturday. Her husband asked her to board Bhagalpur Express after they reached Guna railway station at around 4.30 pm on

A zero rape case was registered based on the complaint by the alleged victim.

The accused has been arrested.

Saturday and left for the ticket counter to buy tickets for them. The train had departed by the time he collected tickets. The train reached Sagar at 8.15 pm on Saturday.

The survivor was asked by the ticket collector at Sagar railway station to show the ticket. However, she said her husband had tickets with him and could not catch the train. The Ticket Collector had then taken her to the nearby railway quarters on the pretext that she would be produced before his senior officer. She was allegedly raped by him in the quarters, police said.

The accused let her go at around 9.30 pm. She along with her husband reached Sagar Cantt police station the next day to lodge the complaint.
