Chilkalgud­a police arrest 2 minor brothers for ‘rape’

Eight minor girls were raped in separate incidents in Hyderabad

Chilkalgud­a police arrested two brothers who are minors for allegedly raping two minor girls who are sisters.

According to police, the minor boys are residents of Amberpet and had been having physical relations with the victims for past two years. The case came to light after both sisters quarrelled over petty issues and revealed their physical relation with the accused before their parents on Wednesday.

Upon this, father of the victims lodged a complaint with police. The accused have been arrested and a case under Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered against them.

During past two months, eight minors have been raped in separate incidents in the city.

On June 8, a 16-year-old minor was raped by her uncle Bandari Ilaiah within Market police station limits. Later, they both got married at Mahanandi in Kurnool district.

On June 4, a Xerox shop employee was arrested for raping a 16year-old girl. She had on April 20 gone to celebrate a birthday party with the accused. He bought her a mobile phone and raped her in his car at Necklace Road.

On May 28, a 17-yearold

girl was allegedly gang-raped by five people, including minors from political families, when she was returning home after a party at a pub in Jubilee Hills.

On May 30, a 15-yearold girl was allegedly gang-raped repeatedly by five persons, including two minor boys. The assault had been taking place since March and came to light on Monday after Karkhana police officials registered a case.

On May 31, a 16-yearold girl was allegedly raped when she was heading home. She was intercepte­d by the accused who asked for her phone number. He then manipulate­d her into going with him. Kalapather police booked a case.

In another case on May

31, a 11-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by two men who offered a ride home. Moghalpura police have booked a case.
