Detachment was the purpose of life and stress was not normal, one could change their lives by just repeating their positive mantras everyday which was called ‘emotional diet for the soul’, said Sister Brahma Kumari Shivani here on Saturday.

Addressing a session on ‘Art of Affirmations’ organised by FICCI Ladies’ Club (FLO) Hyderabad Chapter in the city, Sister Shivani explained how our thoughts became reality and how the power a person held to change his/her surroundings and life by only having positive thoughts.

“We do not count the days when we are healing and becoming a positive person. Change takes time, and a few days cannot measure it. We do not have to rush. Healing a person’s mind, body and soul is not that simple and no time can measure it,” she said.

She asked over 100 guests to write down on a piece of paper what positive changes they would like to bring in their lives. “I am healthy, I accept my body the way it is, I am a happy soul, I have enough time, my mind is perfectly healthy, my family is reunited and always happy,” wrote the guests on a piece of paper while repeating the mantras recited by Sister Shivani.

She said repeating this positive mantra as soon as a person woke up and before going to bed was a necessary emotional diet which could slowly heal a person. “The quality of life does not depend on what is happening outside the world, it depends on what I think about what is happening outside,” she added.

Subhraa Maheshwari, chairperson of FLO Hyderabad said, “We are delighted to have Sister Shivani, a spiritual practitioner, and a renowned teacher of Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organisation, to speak about the ‘Art of Affirmations’. We believe in the power of affirmations, that they create lasting positive impact to our wellbeing.”
