ARVIND DHARMAPURI said the TS government spent `23 crore for erecting signages clai ing success of various state government programmes, particularly on the Metro Rail pillars in the city.

The BJP has decided that no matter what the provocation from other political parties in the state, it will not react and join any publicity battle as it enters the last mile in preparations for its national executive meeting on July 2 and 3 in the city.

The big party event is to be capped by what the BJP plans, will be a mammoth public meeting at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP state spokesperson N.V. Subhash said that the national executive is not just for Telangana state but is a meeting where the party will discuss affairs of the entire country, including the current situation in Telangana and its plans for the state, and any efforts at sniping in the form of attempts to gain cheap publicity by the other political parties, whether targeted at individual BJP leaders or the party itself, will be ignored.

There is no point in reacting to such cheap attempts for publicity by others, he said, adding that the BJP will not waste its energies on such trivial issues. Subhash said that preparations for the national executive meeting, and the public meeting are nearing completion, and the countdown for the events has begun.

Echoing the BJP sentiments on publicity efforts by other parties seeking to piggy back on the BJP’S events in the city, the party MP from Nizamabad Arvind Dharmapuri said the Telangana government spent `23 crore for erecting signages clai ing success of various state government programmes, particularly on the Metro Rail pillars in the city.

“There was absolutely no need to spend public money like that. This is just cheap tactics to remain," he said.
