WEALTH I N WASTE
“Lessons from two cities” (March 16-31, 2014) shows how Pune and Bengaluru are trying to deal with waste management. Pune’s Magarpatta model is particularly striking. The efforts of the local people to keep their town clean are praiseworthy. The best part is the segregation and recycling of dry and wet waste. None of the waste is left untreated. The government should give incentives to the people to adopt effective waste management techniques. T S HARSHA envrao@rediffmail.com
