AIIMS-Madurai notified in Central gazette

CHENNAI: The The Central government has notified the proposed All INdia Institute of Medical Science at Madurai in the gazette on Friday. The sophisticated medical facility was proposed to come up at a cost of around Rs 1,500 crore. The foundation stone for the prestigious project was laid by Prime Minster Narendra Modi in January 2019. Subsequently, the state government initiated land acquisition proceedings and ministers also frequently inspected the progress of the preparatory works at the site in Thoppur.
