AIADMK executive committee to meet on September 28
CHENNAI: AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami who convened the party high-level meeting at the party headquarters here on Friday announced that the party executive committee meeting will be held on September 28.
A joint statement issued by the AIADMK leaders OPS and EPS said that the meeting will be chaired by party presidium chairman E Madhusudhanan. “Individual invitations will be sent from the party office and only those who are invited should attend the executive committee meeting without fail,” the AIADMK leaders said.
Earlier in the day, State ministers, district secretaries and senior party members discussed the early conduct of general council and executive committee meeting which are usually conducted in the month of November. “With the Assembly elections fast approaching and coronavirus pandemic lockdown stalling the party activities, the AIADMK leaders wished to prepone the crucial executive meeting. The executive committee will announce the party general council meeting schedule,” AIADMK sources said.
“The party executive meeting will discuss poll works and cadre enrolment works that should be speeded up ahead of polls,” sources added. The party executive committee is also likely to elect an 11-member committee that will discuss the key issues related to the party, including alliance and next Chief Minister candidate.
Meanwhile, former AIADMK MP Anwar Raja after attending the party district functionaries meeting in Ramanathapuram told reporters that the release of AMMK leader VK Sasikala will certainly create an impact in Tamil Nadu politics. However, the former MP did not elaborate on what kind of impact Sasikala will create to the AIADMK.
