Nation experienced many moments of pride: PM
Unprecedented achievements, claims Amit Shah on 7th anniv of NDA government
The country has experienced many moments of national pride during his government’s tenure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday as he highlighted its initiatives on national security and various development measures on its seventh anniversary.
In his monthly ‘Mann ki Baat’ address, Modi also said that along with successes there have been trials too and referred to the COVID-19 pandemic which has hit lives hard across the country and dealt a blow to economy. He expresses confidence that India will prevail over the virus. Over these seven years, he said, the country has followed the mantra of sabka saath, sabka
vikas, sabka vishwas. India now moves ahead not under the pressure of other countries but with its own convictions, he asserted, saying it makes everyone proud.
Noting that in seven decades after Independence only 3.5 crore rural homes had water connections, he said 4.5 crore houses have been given clean water connections in the last 21 months alone. Of these, 15 months were during the coronavirus period, he added. When the poor come home healthy with free treatment under Ayushman Yojana they feel that they have got a new life, he said.
In these seven years, India has worked to show the world a new direction in digital transactions, and it is also setting records in launching satellites and constructing roads, he said. India has overcome many difficult tests as well, and each time it emerged stronger, he added.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the completion of seven years of his government and said during this period, the country made “unprecedented achievements” in fields of security, public welfare and reforms. In a series of tweets in Hindi, Shah credited Modi for improving the living standards of the poor, farmers and deprived sections by bringing them into the mainstream with his determined, holistic and welfare policies and making India a powerful nation with his strong leadership.
BJP chief JP Nadda said while crores of party workers serve people by helping them with Covid relief material, the opposition has “quarantined” itself and works to lower the morale of country during pandemic. BJP leaders and workers are marking the seventh anniversary of the Modi government on Sunday by carrying out COVID prevention and relief work in one lakh villages.
