AIADMK: Sasi’s video bid to create confusion, none in touch with her

-

In the backdrop of Sasikala’s select audio conversation with her supporters making rounds on social media assuring that she will retrieve the AIADMK and strengthen the Opposition party, the AIADMK responded sharply stating that the ousted leader was trying to confuse the AIADMK workers.

AIADMK joint co-ordinator KP Munusamy on Monday denied the reports that the AIADMK leaders and workers were in touch with Sasikala. Sasikala was talking to her supporters, who are associated with AMMK and she has nothing to do with the AIADMK, he told reporters reiterating that there was no room for her in the party.

“The AIADMK is progressing under the direction of leaders. Sasikala is trying to confuse the AIADMK members and the intention of Sasikala to gain power through AIADMK will not materialise and cadre will not allow it. She should stay away from politics and that is good for her and also the best thing she can do for the departed soul of our late leader Jayalalithaa,” the AIADMK legislator said.

“She is not in AIADMK now and, there will never be a place for her in the party,” he told media persons in Krishnagiri.

To a query why Sasikala would not be allowed into the party, Munusamy shot back saying that her family members became super-rich by exploiting AIADMK workers and they wanted to continue with this practice. So, the cadre would not allow such a thing to repeat.

When asked about the reports of tension brewing between party coordinator O Panneerselvam and his deputy Edappadi K Palaniswami, Munusamy said that both EPS and OPS were united.

Commenting on the issue, ousted AIADMK leader KC Palaniswami said that he was pained to see the developments. None in the AIADMK or Sasikala faction was taking serious steps to strengthen party. This would only weaken it, Palaniswami said.
