“Clearing files is the important parameter of a good government. Former chief minister M Karunanidhi has advised me that files should not stay in the office and so I took decision swiftly and cleared them. I have also directed the Ministers not to sit on the files and to take immediate decisions on them. I am also monitoring the files. I am not a CM who just sits at the Secretariat, but I am moving with the public to fulfill their aspirations,” Stalin said in the video.

The CM also said that he had assured that he would inform about the schemes and promises implemented once DMK comes to power. “On May 7, I took charge as the Chief Minister and signed five important signatures such as Rs 4,000 for all rice cardholders, reducing Rs 3 per litre in the price of Aavin milk, free bus travel for women, new department under ‘CM in your constituency’ scheme and to bring COVID-19 treatment under Chief Minister’s comprehensive health insurance scheme. Through a signature the lives of crores of people and expectations of lakhs of people have been fulfilled,” said Stalin.

He further said that before elections he had toured the entire state and received petitions. Out of them solutions for 2.5 lakh petitions have been found in the first 100 days of his rule. Nearly, 2.15 crore families received Rs 4,000 each and a package of 13 assorted necessary items. 1,73, 792 school students were brought back into the education fold. For the first time in history jewel loans have been waived for families, who have obtained by pledging less than five sovereigns. Rs 2,000 crore worth loans for SHGs were waived and 4,482 people have so far benefitted from the ‘Innuyir Kaapom’ scheme in which free treatment is provided for the first 48 hours after an accident.

“Sixty-six announcements were made in the Governor’s address and 49 GOs were issued so far. In the last 8 months, 1,641 announcements have been made and so far 1,238 GOs have been issued meaning 75 per cent of the announcements were fulfilled. Details about the remaining announcements will be given in the next video,” the CM added.

Under Rule 110

Stalin went on to say that announcements made by him under Rule 110 of the Tamil Nadu Assembly Rules and announcements made by the Ministers have also been printed as a 500 page book and given to the public. “This is just an example to show that we will not forget our promises,” said Stalin.

When COVID-19 peaked, he had visited the wards and during the cyclone he visited rain-hit areas. He had distributed relief materials in Delta and after returning to Chennai he immediately visited the Corporation emergency room to monitor flood works and returned home only at 2 am. Immediately the next day, he visited the flood affected areas in Chennai.

“I personally visited the COVID vaccination centres and when there were complaints about Pongal gift hamper distribution. I visited the ration shops to check it. I also personally checked the working of police stations to know whether the grievances of the public are solved. I have been trained to live for the people by Karunanidhi and I am living by his words,” added Stalin.
