NTK will protest if SL Tamils in special camp not released
Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief Seeman on Saturday issued a warning to the State government that his party will resort to protest if the Sri Lankan Tamils lodged in the special camp in Tiruchirappalli are not released immediately.
“The news of 30 Sri Lankan Tamils swallowing pills and self-immolate bid by one of them is shocking. Without any humanitarian consideration, the State government is refusing to accept the demands of Lankan Tamils who are on a hunger strike for more than 35 days. When the State government is silent even after the Lankan Tamils are ready to lose their lives, it kindles a doubt whether the government in Tamil Nadu is a Sinhalese government”, said Seeman, in a statement.

The State government should immediately release the Sri Lankan Tamils from the special camp in Tiruchirappalli along with other foreign nationals and should accord them the status of refugees, urged Seeman.
