TTD to dispense all privileged darshans from Jan 2-11: EO

TIRUMALA: With an aim to facilitate Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan to more common pilgrims, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthana­ms (TTD) has dispensed with all kinds of privileged darshans in the famous hill shrine and Arjitha Seva will be observed in Ekantam from January 2 to 11, its Executive Officer A V Dharma Reddy said on Saturday.

He held a detailed review meeting with the senior officers of various department­s at Annamaiah Bhavan, here on the arrangemen­ts for the ensuing Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan.

The auspicious day of Vaikuntha Ekadasi occurs on January 2 and Vaikuntha Dwadasi on January 3 next year.

But following the practice of opening the Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan for ten days as in the last two years, TTD will enable the unique Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan till January 11, Reddy told media. After the early morning rituals including Tiruppavai, Dhanurmasa Kainkaryam­s, Bali, Sattumora Suddhi, First Bell., the darshan will commence at 5 AM for common pilgrims (tentativel­y).

On a day, nearly 80,000 pilgrims will be provided Darshan. Devotees having SRIVANI, Special Entry Darshan (SED) tickets and Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) token holders will be provided with “Maha Laghu Darshan”(from Jaya-Vijaya) point only.

TTD will release 25,000 tickets of Rs 300 SED everyday and

for these ten days 2.50 lakh tickets will be released on-line. All these tickets will be released while the online quota for the entire month of January 2023 is released online.

A total of five lakh tokens of SSD will be issued with 50,000 tokens on each day at ten venues with nine in Tirupati and one at Tirumala which is exclusivel­y earmarked for Tirumala

locals. Aadhaar card is mandatory to procure tickets.

Every day 2,000 SRIVANI tickets will be released online during these ten days. Everyday 2,000 donors can also book their darshan quota online.

Only Self-Protocol VIPs alone will be allotted darshan tickets and no recommenda­tion letters will be entertaine­d for Vaikuntha Ekadasi.
