VOLVO S60 POLESTAR

Polestar is Volvo’s performance arm, akin to Mercedes’ AMG and BMW’s M. And debuting the brand in India is the fastest production Volvo ever made. The S60 comes with a tiny 2-litre petrol engine with a turbocharger and a supercharger that helps it churn out 362bhp and 470Nm. It gets AWD and is capable of reaching 100kmph in 4.7 seconds and maxing out at an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.

FORD FIGO/ASPIRE SPORTS EDITION 

The Figo along with its compact sedan sibling have received minor sporty updates to make the enthusiasts happy. Both the cars gets a stiffer suspension setup along with a beefier anti-roll bar. Cosmetically, the Aspire S shares only the decals with the hatch. The Figo gets 15-inch black alloys, honeycomb grille, black roof and mirrors, red stitched steering wheel and seats.

LAMBORGHINI HURACÁN PERFORMANTE

The Nürburgring champ has finally made it to our shores. Lambo’s Super Trofeo inspired supercar comes with the most powerful V10 the Italian brand has ever produced. It is also lighter than the Huracan by 40kg thanks to the bumpers, engine cover and diffuser being made of Lambo’s proprietary forged composite carbonfibre. The 630 horses allow it to hit 100kmph in just 2.9 seconds and the top speed is rated at 325kmph.

TATA TIGOR

Being hailed as one of the best looking compact sedans in the country, Tata has brought style back to this dull and unconventional segment. The Tiagobased sedan comes with contemporary styling, making it look like an extended hatch with a coupe like roofline. The Tigor gets the same powertrains as the Tiago.

2017 NISSAN TERRANO

Taking cues from its cousin, the Duster, the Terrano has received 22 updates to refresh the aging SUV. The list includes a 7-inch touchscreen, electric ORVMs, hill climb assist, cruise control, dual-tone interiors, steering mounted controls and finally, a driver’s armrest. There is a new shade on offer (Sandstone Brown) along with minor blink-and-you-shall-miss updates on the outside. The powertrains have been retained but the top of the line 108bhp variant also gets the option of a 6-speed AMT gearbox.

2017 MAHINDRA XUV500

The 2017 XUV500 comes with an array of connectivity features such as Android Auto, Connected Apps, Ecosense and emergency calling function. Connected Apps includes a basket of apps such as Gaana, Zomato, BookMyShow and more for easy access while Ecosense gives you a score based on your driving, for maximum efficiency. The features will be available from W6 variant onwards while the W10 also gets an all-black interior theme. No mechanical or aesthetic changes have been made, whatsoever.

AUDI Q3 1.4 TFSI

The Q3 facelift was launched a few weeks ago but Audi has now offered the choice of a petrol engine to customers. The same engine from the A3 also does duty under the Q3’s hood. Unfortunately, unlike its diesel counterpart, the petrol is available only with front-wheel drive configuration. The fuel efficiency figure stands at a healthy 16.9kmpl and the crossover is quick too, hitting 100kmph in just under 9 seconds. It also gets subtle cosmetic updates such as 17-inch wheels and tweaked bumpers.

2017 AUDI A3

After unveiling the Cabriolet in February, Audi has now brought in the updated sedan in both, diesel and petrol variants. The facelift brings with it a set of new LED DRLs, sleeker tail lights, rehashed bumpers and a more prominent grille. Unfortunately, the sedan too has missed out on the all-digital Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster. Powertrains include a downsized 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol unit with Cylinder-On-Demand technology as well as the old 2-litre diesel. Would you still go for the CLA?

2017 HYUNDAI XCENT

The Xcent has gotten a mid-life refresh and gets a tweaked front and rear end, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integrated 7-inch touchscreen and most importantly a new 1.2-litre diesel engine replacing the 1.1-litre unit.
