RRED BULL IS WORLDrenowned when it comes to finding and nurturing sporting talents from across the world. Sebastian Vettel, Marquez, Neymar, Chris Pfieffer and our very own C S Santosh are amongst the few who have been helped in their endeavours by the Austrian energy drink company and most of them have gone to become world champions.

Red Bull has their own junior rookie series which they run in parallel to the MotoGP championship known as the Red Bull Rookies Cup. Young teenagers battle it out on Moto3spec KTMs as it provides the perfect stepping stone into Grand Prix racing. The series, which began in 2007, has provided us with some of their alumni going on to becoming champions in Moto3 and Moto2 champions. Red Bull have partnered with Suzuki to host a junior series in the country wherein budding racers will battle it out for a chance at qualification for the international rookie cup. The series, christened as “Red Bull Road To Rookies Cup”, will run in conjunction with Suzuki’s Gixxer Cup.

The racers need to be between 13-17 years of age and the inaugural season will be on an invitational basis. With workshops and training schools planned, the grid will contain ten aspirants. There will be three rounds of the series and the top two of the championship will travel to Spain for qualifying for the rookies cup.

They will be using the same Gixxer 150 SF Cup bikes which the seniors use, which are the race-prepped versions of the Gixxer SF. The series will now be a part of the MMSC 2W NRC which begins on June 24. ⌧
