Nissan Connect to digitise owner experience
AFTER MAHINDRA, SKODA and other big players, Nissan has gone digital with its Nissan Connect initiative. Combining over 50 odd features, the app based service intends to connect the owners better with their cars.
Available on iOS, Android and Windows Mobile devices, the Nissan Connect app connects to the car with the help of a factory-fitted Telematics Control Unit (TCU). The TCU will also be available to retrofit on existing cars in the near future, claims Nissan.
Having paired your phone with the TCU, the app allows the owners to geo fence, receive overspeeding alerts, or set ‘curfew alerts’ (notify if the car moves out of its specified location, before the time limit). The owners can also book service appointments, locate their car, manage trip info and also receive an eco score’ depending on their driving pattern.
The Nissan Connect platform has been indigenously developed at the Renault-Nissan Technology and Business Centre India (RNTBCI) in Chennai and is available for the entire Nissan line-up in the country. The service will be provided free of cost for a period of three years.
