The Samsung Galaxy Watch LTE is an impressive wearable for those on the Android ecosystem

LET US GET SOMETHING OUT OF THE WAY FIRST. The Samsung Galaxy Watch is one of the best smartwatches around. It gets a host of features and a battery life that few other smartwatches can even come close to rivalling. It competes with the Apple Watch Series 5 and frankly even betters it on some fronts. The attractive design, great user interface and impressive battery life put it in a league of its own. The Galaxy Watch looks and feels like a high-end wristwatch, with a circular stainless steel case and bezel. It’s equally functional too and the bezel rotates to cycle through a number of different on-screen menus.

This is easily the best way to navigate a smartwatch, and the rotating bezel is something of a novelty that doesn’t fade off over time at all. In fact it makes it extremely easy to swipe through apps on the fly and is very intuitive, unlike most other smartwatches’ navigation methods.

Rotating bezels are not supported by Google’s Wear OS, while Apple’s watch OS uses a less intuitive rotating digital crown button on the side. This is one of the reasons the Galaxy Watch runs Samsung’s Tizen software, not Wear OS.

The 1.3-inch Super AMOLED screen is rather bright and colour-rich, and is a testament to Samsung’s ever-improving display technology. It’s easy to see outside thanks to adaptive brightness settings.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch focuses on fitness, with auto-tracking for workouts ranging from cycling, running, and even walking for a total of six exercises. The feature proved particularly useful over the course of a busy day and meant I had to interact with the watch fewer times, which is always a boon. For instance, whenever I walked for 10 minutes the watch would trigger the exercise tracker that I would often forget to activate myself.

The Galaxy Watch is even prompt in giving you slight nudges asking you to move when you have been sedentary for a long period of time. The challenges feature goes a step further even and you can compete with friends to see who has been the most physically active.

Over and above the impressive battery life, Samsung power saving mode is even better and can make even a small amount of charge go a long way.

In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy Watch comes across as a great option for people on the lookout for a smartwatch for their Android device.
