Renault Triber

Our senior photographer finds out what makes the Triber so good at... photography!

- Rohit G Mane (@rohitmane93)

WHAT MAKES A CAR GOOD? AS photographers, our priority isn’t a big screen or an air purifier in the cabin — although it never hurts to have those. We benchmark our cars based on how good they are to shoot from and in that regard, the Triber is surely proving to be one of the best.

As the senior photographer, I need to be present at most of the shoots in the magazine and, as my long-termer, the Triber is there too, serving as the tracking car. So most of the pictures you see on these pages have been shot out of the back of it, by me! I think it’s safe to say the Triber and I make a great team.

Now, what makes a good camera car? The first thing you need is a stable ride. A stiff suspension setup disturbs the camera, while a soft one would wallow too much for me to get the focus right. And the Triber finds the perfect balance. The ride is not jarring or unsettled, it inspires confidence when I’m hanging out the boot. The next big thing is space and the Tiber’s modular third row — which allow you to take the bench out entirely — coupled with the large cabin, definitely helps me get nice and comfortable while shooting. The space also allows me to load the car up with camera equipment.

But who knew that what contributes to a great camera car, is also what helps the Triber be the default choice for any of our family outings. Because, at the end of the day, who doesn’t like a comfortable car with acres of space? ⌧

At the end of the day though, who doesn’t like a comfortable car with acres of space?
