Platinum PERFECTION

Bazaar celebrates the MAGIC of the earth’s rarest precious metal in Bengaluru with the city’s glitterati

-

It is said that a gathering of friends is automatically a party. And the cocktail evening hosted in Bengaluru by Bazaarr to celebrate the Eclectic Collection of statement rings by the city’s famed jewellers, C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons (CKC), in collaboration with the Platinum Guild International, was just that.

First to arrive was designer Sanchita Ajjampur, with her friend Ila Naidu, who headed straight to Bazaar’s plush room at The Leela Palace, which also doubled up as our dressing room (our models, who displayed some fantastic pieces crafted in platinum, were made up and styled by the Schwarzkopf Professional team here, headed by Nausheen Fathima), to choose the ring for the evening. Coming from the Eclectic Collection, the rings had various inspirations: from the tiger to the peacock, and even the mythical twoheaded eagle, symbol of the Mysore royal family, for whom CKC traditionally designed jewellery.

In another part of the hotel, the Royal Ballroom was being set up, with chairs facing the dais where Bengaluru’s most beloved fusion-jazz band, Moonarra, were to perform. The evening kicked off with a short talk about platinum, and the Eclectic Collection by Ganesh Narayan, joint MD of C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons. Guests like Manjusha Maheshwari, Manoviraj Khosla, Raj Shroff, Prasad Bidappa, Leena Singh, PGI’S Karen Zaveri, Neil and Pallavi Foley, Harathi Reddy Rebello, and others then shook a leg to the strains of some classic jazz numbers by Moonarra, and the evening ended on an early yet high note (Bengaluru shuts down early) with many lingering on at The Leela Palace’s Library Bar for a nightcap with the Bazaar team.
