ROCK STAR GORGEOUS

Earthy and free-spirited, Jade Jagger reveals the beauty musts to get her leonine mane and fabulously glowing skin

-

Fêted as a style icon, Jade Jagger is known both for her artistically distressed style and bohemian flair. After being appointed as fine jeweller in the house of Asprey & Garrard, she went on to design the famous Jagger Dagger, a sword for Belvedere Vodka, and in 2010 redesigned the bottle for Guerlain’s Shalimar perfume. Today, she designs intricate jewellery, and divides her time between London and India. Here, Jade gives us a peek into her beauty routine.

What’s the secret behind your hair?

Keep the blow-drying and styling that involves heat to a minimum. I use Kérastase Elixir Ultimé, ` 2,200, which is a natural product. I also love Kérastase’s Bain Miroir conditioner (the Chroma range in India). You don’t want to make your hair suffer too much, so that when you want something back from it, it will give it to you. That’s my motto for everything—don’t overdo it.

What are your skin essentials?

I’m a bit of a wash-and-go girl, so I don’t hang around in the bathroom for too long. I tend to only cleanse and moisturise on a daily basis. Just plenty of water, good rest, and happiness give you a glowing smile, and nothing shines quite like that.

Favourite beauty products?

I use Guerlain, the terracotta range, Calvin Klein mascara, and also use some natural products. Sometimes I use La Prairie, but I don’t think there really are any anti-ageing miracle creams. In makeup, I love a good smokey eye and lots of kohl, which gives a very sultry look. Rouge always makes you look healthy when you’re, maybe, feeling a little grey.

The exercise regime you follow?

I like to go running or walking, just to get the cardio going, and then I work sometimes with weights. I used to do a lot of yoga but I found it was quite stressful on my body. I find that Pilates instead is better as it incorporates so many things for good posture and core strength.

What are your meals like?

I make myself a lot of greens, salads, a lot of raw food, but I still enjoy an indulgence. I also love stews and making stocks in coconut milk. I think exercise really makes your mind and body feel strong. Once you have that, everything falls into place and you naturally want to eat better than you already do. I also take a bit of primrose oil and occasionally, some vitamins.
