Aditi wears a Missoni dress, shoes from Venus Steps, GF Gianfranco Ferré bag, hoops by BGs, and ring from Aldo. “I love the fact that my work allows me the freedom to dress uniquely,” says Aditi. “And so, my style, though simple, is idiosyncratic.”

- ADITI KHURANA PROJECT HEAD, INDIA DESIGN FORUM

Thirty three-year-old Aditi is a graduate of the College of Art, Delhi, and also the international regional coordinator for School of Visual Arts, New York. She often poses for her husband Manil Gupta and brother-in-law Rohit Gupta’s collaborative photographs. Her style is an extension of her proximity to the world of arts.

YOUR FASHION INFLUENCE

One should either be a work of art or wear one. Fashion is about self expression, and I love experimenting.

YOUR CHALLENGE

My biggest one would be choosing from a collection of heterogenous clothes to put together a look that will take me through the day.

FAVOURITE DESIGNERS

Manish Arora and Issey Miyake.

WORK-DAY UNIFORM

I have the advantage of not being in a corporate job with a dress code. And being from an art and design background, I love to mix. From simple day dresses to denims and T-shirts, to kurtas with palazzos, all these work for me.

EVENINGWEAR

Depending on the occasion, but definitely clean-cut and well-fitted: My clothes need to justify all the exercise I do.

ARE BRANDS IMPORTANT?

Good things often come at a price. But one needs to have an eye, whether shopping from a brand or a flea market. Fashion can be bought, but style is something one possesses.

YOUR FASHION MANTRA

Wear what makes you happy. People will stare, so make it worth their while.
