Prabhavathi Meppayil (1965), lives and works in Bengaluru
Prabhavathi Meppayil has been working arduously for years in Bengaluru, using traditional techniques learned from her family of goldsmiths to embed lines of wire (such as copper) into gesso panels. These minimal (their intricacy is near impossible to capture in a photograph) and meditative works stole the show in the Arsenale, and I’m proud to have one on my own wall.
