ULUPI BY CHETAN CHHILLER Ogaan, Delhi

-

While working with Ogaan as a visual merchandiser, Chetan Chhiller began to think of his own label, and showed some of his designs to the merchandising team. It’s from here that Ulupi, a line of cleanlystyled, bright, distinctly-Indian, and light clothes, was launched in 2012. “Chetan makes sure that his shapes and fits are great, and he develops his own block prints which he uses in very unusual ways. There’s a print of a woman brushing her hair in his current collection which I love,” says Aashti Bhartia, director of Ogaan. His biggest strength, she says, is that “he isn’t looking at the bigger brands and trying to go down the road they did. He’s working with his own instinct.”
