Freelance fashion consultant and self-confessed shoe-fanatic EDWARD LALREMPUIA shuttles between Mumbai and Delhi to create fashion drama in print. He’s worked for Vogue and Elle in the past, and for this issue of Bazaar, he styles cover star Deepika Padukone in ‘Winner Takes All’ (pg 128). Who’s on your A-List? My mom. She loved fashion and is the reason I’m here today. What’s your secret past? Up till about 18, I was obese. The founder and managing director of the public relations company Avian Media, NIKHIL KHANNA writes on the entreprene­ur and art collector Rajshree Pathy in ‘A Life in Full’ (pg 180). Who’s on your A-List? Writers, teachers, poets, artists, and playwright­s. What’s your secret past? I was, am, and will remain a resolute food junkie. Padma Shri awardee PARESH MAITY is one of the most popular contempora­ry Indian artists, whose 800 ft long work at Delhi airport’s T3 is one of the longest paintings in the world. He creates a portrait in tribute to the late actress Suchitra Sen in ‘ For the Love of the Arts’ (pg 212). What were you like at five? I was absent-minded, interested in nature, clay modelling, and doodling. Who’s on your A-List? God. Over the past 19 years, acclaimed Pakistani artist RASHID RANA’s work has taken many different forms, from paintings and stainless steel sculptures, to video installati­ons and photo mosaics. He lends his oeuvre to ‘Art Meets Fashion’ (pg 272). An alumnus of National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, and a self-taught paper engineer, SACHIN GEORGE SEBASTIAN works with plain white paper to create intricate works of art. He reinterpre­ts the season’s biggest trend to start off Bazaar Style with ‘In Love With Pleats’ (pg 51). What were you like at five? Small and naughty. Who’s on your A-List? Santa Claus. What’s your secret past? I’ve met Edward Scissorhan­ds. Resident photograph­er and Bazaar favourite, ANAND GOGOI graduated from Speos Photograph­y Institute, in Paris, and his body of work is spread across fashion editorials and environmen­tal portraits. He captures ‘A New Look at Denim’ (pg 94). What were you like at five? An extremely quiet and obedient child. Not quite how I have turned out! Who’s on your A-List? Italian photograph­er Paolo Roversi. What’s your secret past? I wanted to be an Air Force pilot, an engineer, and then an economist, in that order.
