SAS NAGAR: Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) secretary general MP Pandove has said that changes have to be made in the body’s constitution to make it compatible with the Lodha Committee report.

“Initially there will be some bottlenecks, but since the report requires changes in the Article of the association, it will have to go through the general body,” Pandove said on Monday.

The implementation will lead to sweeping changes in the administrative structure of PCA with the likes of current president DP Reddy, who is a Punjab cadre IAS officer, having to relinquish his post.

Another IAS Vishwajit Khanna, who is the treasurer, will also have to quit the association.

The likes of IS Bindra and Pandove, who both have had a long association with PCA and have been holding various top posts, will also have to step down as both are above 70 years. GS Walia will also have to leave the secretary’s post as he has been at the helm for more than nine years.

“PCA will convene its executive committee meeting soon to chalk out a way for implementing the recommendations,” Pandove said.
