AAP’s debt-waiver drive just a gimmick: Cong

CHANDIGARH: Dismissing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s debt waiver campaign as “pitiable”, the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) on Friday said AAP leaders could not befool the people of Punjab with such “gimmickry”.

PPCC leaders Gurjit Aujla, Gurdev Singh Lapran and Lakhvir Singh Lakha said in the statement here that Arvind Kejriwal’s party was making a futile attempt to match the Congress’ promise.

Unlike the Congress debt waiver campaign, which covers all affected farmers in the state, AAP’s farm manifesto promises waiver to only poor farmers, they said.
