Singer confirms producers of Harry Potter series rejected a ballad he composed for one of the films Springstee­n told BBC in an interview that he wrote the song I’ll Stand By You for the fantasy movie franchise after reading the novels to his eldest son 2 Harry Potter author JK Rowling is said to have had a contract stipulatio­n that prevented the use of commercial songs in the films. The song is said to date as far back as 1998 3 “It was a big ballad that was very uncharacte­ristic of something I’d sing myself... At some point, I’d like to get it into a children’s movie of some sort because it was a pretty lovely song,” Springstee­n said.
