Robbers gun down fuel station employee in Majitha village

AMRITSAR:A fuel station employee was shot dead by two robbers when he refused to hand them over the money he was carrying at Sham Nagar village near Majitha on Thursday.

The victim has been identified as Anil Pal, 42.

As per the informatio­n, the accused reached the petrol station on a motorcycle and asked Pal to fill petrol worth ₹100.

After the petrol was filled, the accused tried to snatch away the money from him. Pal resisted and the accused shot him dead and rode away without the money.

The bullet hit Pal near the ear and he died on the spot.

Amritsar (rural) senior superinten­dent of police J Elanchezia­n said, “The robbers wanted money and when the petrol pump employee resisted, they shot him dead. We are working on various angles and formed teams to crack the case.”

A case under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC and Arms Act has been registered.
