AMRITSAR SNATCHINGS

Amritsar has seen a spurt in snatching incidents of late. Even pilgrims to the holy city are not spared. The chaotic traffic is a hurdle in catching the snatchers. The authorities need to take proactive steps to check this disturbing trend and restore public confidence. There was a time in the 1950s when the city magistrates would monitor the situation closely to catch hold of the thieves.
