Wind power tariffs fall below ₹4 per unit

Wind power tariffs followed the solar route and fell below ₹4 per kilo-watt hour (kWh), in a 1 gigawatt (GW) tender by state-run Solar Energy Corp of India (SECI). The lowest bid was at ₹3.82 per unit as of press time, when the sale process was still under way. India plans to achieve 175GW of renewable energy capacity by 2022. This includes 60 GW from wind power.
