: The Rohtak district administration on Wednesday permitted those injured in the last year’s Jat agitation to submit their medical documents to the deputy commissioner’s office by March 14 in order to get compensation.

Jat protesters had earlier cried foul that the government had ignored a large number of victims by distributing relief to only 22 people in the district.

Giving in to one of the demands of the Jat protesters, the state administration invited victims to submit valid medical proof about their injuries to get compensation. The announcement comes at a time when the Jat community has announced to take their protest to national capital Delhi on March 20.

Jat leader Yashpal Malik had recently announced that they will not hold any talks with the government till March 20 as they had already listed all their demands.

ANOTHER JAT LEADER BOOKED

The police on Tuesday night booked another Jat leader for delivering an inciting speech at the ongoing dharna in Jassia village of Rohtak district.

Pawan Hooda, a resident of Jassia, was booked under sections 121 A (attempting to wage war against government), 122 (collecting arms with intention to wage war against government) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Hooda had allegedly asked his supporters to collect weapons for the proposed protest in the national capial Delhi on March 20.
