Cong ridicules AAP for ‘Kejriwal effect’ remark

-

:Ridiculing the claim of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) that the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting were result of ‘Kejriwal effect’, the Punjab Congress has asked the state’s main opposition party to stop indulging in such absurdities to remain in the limelight after defeat in the polls. In a statement issued here on Sunday, a spokesperson of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) asked where the so-called ‘Kejriwal effect’ had disappeared on the voting day, when the people of Punjab chose to cast their ballot in Congress’s favour.

It was obvious, said the spokesperson, that having failed to have any ‘effect’ on the electorate’s minds, the AAP was now indulging in gimmickry through such statements. “Rather than working as a constructive opposition in the interest of the state, the party appeared to have adopted a policy of negation,” said the spokesperson.

Recalling the ‘drama’ enacted by AAP leaders, led by their legislative party leader HS Phoolka, by choosing to stand at the swearing-in ceremony, the spokesperson said Kejriwal’s party was quite evidently least interested in promoting the welfare of the state. He termed illogical the argument of the leder of the opposition, HS Phoolka, that the red beacons had not been removed by the Congress leaders in other states, saying the promise was in the manifesto for Punjab
