We won’t take time before resuming agitations if the government backtracks from its promises. YASHPAL MALIK, AIJASS president

KAITHAL: Three days after their decision to end the ongoing protests, after assurance from chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, members of the All India Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) lifted their dharna at Bhagal of Kaithal district on Wednesday.

The decision to end the protest was taken after AIJASS president Yashpal Malik said that the protest at Bhagal will be ended from Wednesday, as they have shown faith in the chief minister’s assurance to accept their demands. However, protests in Deoban of Kaithal district are still on.

Malik also made it clear that they will not take time to resume the agitations if the CM or the Haryana government backtrack from their promises.

He said that some symbolic dharnas will continue till the demands are accepted; only the members of working committee of AIJASS will participate in these protests.
