Manpreet Badal had quit the finance portfolio in the previous Badal government taking a stand against free power to farmers, citing it as the main cause of Punjab’s poor financial health. Now, he is again the finance minister, but his stand is the opposite. By following the previous government’s appeasement policies, the overall welfare of the people can never be achieved. Fiscal health should be priority.
