JNU students protest admission rule

-

A day after Jawaharlal Nehru University released its admission prospectus in which the number of seats in research courses has gone down to around 200 from over 1000 last year, students held a protest and termed the move as an attempt to shut down the institute.

The JNU students’ union (JNUSU) on Wednesday held protests at the School of International Studies (SIS), School of Languages (SL), and School of Social Sciences (SSS).

The university uploaded the prospectus with new admission rules late Tuesday night.

As per the prospectus, there are some centres where the university this year will take just one student in the MPhil/Phd programme. HTC
