CM’s flying squad unearths many units making spurious products in Haryana

CHANDIGARH: :The Haryana chief minister’s flying squad has unearthed several units manufactur­ing spurious products, including ghee, in different parts of the state.

An official spokesman said on Wednesday that the squad conducted a raid on two factories manufactur­ing spurious ghee. While one of the factories was located in Mirzapur road in Hisar, the other — Shiv Trading Company —was situated in Shyam Vihar Colony, Hisar.

He said that 23 persons have been arrested in connection with recovery of about 1.30 lakh bottles of illicit liquor, including Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL), country-made liquor and beer.

The spokesman said that two factories manufactur­ing ghee were raided in district Gurugram and their samples were sent for investigat­ion.

Following a complaint received about sale of spurious ghee, samples were collected at some other shops. Besides, three factories manufactur­ing tarcoal in Kaithal and Karnal districts were raided and 13 people were arrested.

He said three factories manufactur­ing spurious cold drinks and mineral water were raided in Gurugram and a large quantity of raw material and wrappers were seized.

He said that in Faridabad, the team raided Aquafit mineral water factory and detected theft of power of about ₹37.50 lakh. Theft of power was also detected at two other factories and the matter was being further investigat­ed.
