Shooter accuses agent of using his licence to buy gun

GURGAON: A Gurgaon-based sports shooter has accused a clearing agent of using his arms licence and other documents to illegally import a firearm in his name. Suraj Rao, a shooter who lives in officers’ colony at Civil Lines, Gurgaon, said in his complaint to city police commission­er that his agent Hardeep Bedi had misused the documents to purchase an imported firearm.

Police has registered a case at Civil Lines police station and asked the crime branch of Sector 17 to investigat­e the case.

Suraj, in his complaint, also said that he had submitted all necessary documents to import two pistols from Slovenia. He alleged that these documents were misused by the accused to buy a pistol. The shooter requested the Gurgaon police to conduct a thorough investigat­ion into the matter so that the firearm is not misused.

In another incident, the Crime Unit-10 of Gurgaon police arrested two men on charges of theft on Friday. The arrest was made by a police team, led by subinspect­or Sandeep Kumar of Gurgaon Crime Unit-10, after receiving a tip off.An FIR has been filed against the two. They have been booked for theft under Section 397 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). A delivery bag and a motorcycle have also been recovered from the accused.The police has identified the two as Kapil and Vikash. Kapil is a resident of Sector 29, Chakarpur and Vikash is a resident of Ambedkar Colony of Chakarpur in Sector 29 area.

The two had allegedly been following the delivery boy and when he went to drop the package, they lifted the bag from the motorcycle and sped off.
