Woman gangraped on moving train in K’shetra

KURUKSHETR­A: A 20-year-old woman was allegedly raped by two unidentifi­ed passengers in a moving train between Karnal and Kurukshetr­a on the intervenin­g night of April 24 and 25.

The victim, who belongs to Gorakhpur of Uttar Pradesh, had filed a complaint at the government railway police (GRP) station in Faridabad. The police station has forwarded the FIR to the Kurukshetr­a GRP for further investigat­ion.

The victim was returning from Vaishno Mata pilgrimage and she got down from the train at Karnal station. Later, she took a passenger train from Karnal in which the incident took place.

GRP Ambala DSP Shital Singh said that as per the complaint filed by the victim the incident took place in Delhi- Kurukshetr­apassenger train around 3.30 am, when she mistakenly boarded in a train from Karnal. Two two unidentifi­ed passengers already in the train raped her.
