State to have emergency response centre

The Haryana government on Wednesday decided to set up a centralise­d state emergency response centre (CSERC) at police headquarte­rs in Panchkula to swiftly deal with all type of emergency complaints. Stating that the service would be launched by chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on the birth anniversar­y of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya on September 25, an official release said a decision to this effect was taken in a meeting headed by Khattar here. The CSERC would provide for a centralise­d telephone number for all types of emergency complaints concerning police, fire, health and road accidents. The people could request this service by dialling 100 or 112 through mobile or landline.
